Understand Why

So... you think you're stuck and you want to know more about why? It behooves us to say that no two "stucks" are alike — by this we mean that there's obviously no set solution to your current predicament.

Let us also say that that being stuck is not entirely a bad state of being. Sometimes getting stuck is merely a sign that you're attempting something ambitious or pushing your team hard.

In working with hundreds of leaders, however, we've found that there is often a pattern to being stuck. Great leaders often develop methods and, yes, sometimes seemingly voodoo-driven rituals to get their teams mobilized again. Above all, these leaders are systems thinkers - that is, they tend to use a deeply comprehensive and systematic means to mobilize change and instigate progress.

Over the following web pages, we've included some observations about the pattern of being stuck and the benefits of systems thinking. In the pages of UNSTUCK, we take the thinking several steps further – and offer over tools and case studies to help get back on track.

We invite you to learn more. As you read on, ask yourself: Which Serious Seven type accurately describes your organization? How can you apply systems thinking to attack the root causes?
