Creative release: Get out of your head

When your problem-solving mojo just won’t go, ask yourself, “What would __________ do?” Fill in the blank with several someones to generate a diverse mix of solutions. It gets really interesting when you channel both people you know and admire (Mom comes to mind) as well as celebrities and fictional characters. The more eclectic the better.

You immediately relieve the pressure on yourself to deliver ideas and you bring in fresh perspectives.

Thanks to Emily Goldstein and Nic Anderson of SY/Partners for this tip.
