Few things have the capacity to paralyze us more than fear. When we’re afraid, our thinking narrows and even our bodies physically contract.
So how do we truly conquer fear? Most dictionaries suggest that the opposite of fear is courage, calm, or assurance. But another way to think about how we might oppose fear is to summon laughter instead. When we laugh, we open and expand, both physically and mentally. Laughter helps us project joy and confidence. And playing our way out of stuck moments can be the most effective way to show we’re not afraid.
